news posted 15th June 2017
Hard to believe that the year is nearly over (the club’s year) but there has been some much happening and it has been said that time flies when you are having fun.
By now everybody should have received their pro forma invoices for the new subscription year. If you have not received your invoice yet please contact Elna at email@example.com and let her know.
It has been an exceptional year for the club so far and we have broken many records as far as rounds etc are concerned and if we manage to do the same number of rounds this June as we did June 2016 we will for the first time ever have managed over 40000 rounds.
This is actually a great milestone for the club as it puts us in a different category as far as possible advertising and sponsorship deals that are available in the area.
The rounds below are last 2 months totals
Rounds Comparison Dec to Feb (Last year in bold)
Members 1886 1873
2016 1931 1787
Visitors 1761 575
2016 682 578
(April was an exceptional month with the pro tournament, Easter weekend and other public holidays contributing to the large number of visitors)
In April we hosted the SA Senior Open which was won by Mark McNulty and the accolades that the club received from him and the other pros were fantastic, this was a great tournament for the club and also for Plett as the TV coverage that was flighted on Supers-port showcased both the club and the town in a very favorable light, hopefully the tournament will continue for the original planned 3 years and grow from strength to strength.
On a sadder note we say farewell to Deirdre Booyzen, our membership and bookings guru, who has decided to join her hubby in the family business, a great loss to the club but we all wish her the best going forward but we also welcome Talana Styger who will be handling the membership and bookings going forward.
Members Club Night
The social evening is still a bit quiet at the moment but the jackpot is growing so we do expect better attendance in the coming months. Next evening is Thursday 22nd June 2017, see you there to win the R3500
Whilst putting together the newsletter during the last week devastating fires raged through Plettenberg Bay and my thoughts and sympathies are with those that were affected by these fires.
